Herb Spread
~~~~~~~~~~~
(this is especially good, you can use fresh herbs from the garden~smile)

1/2 pound soft butter
1 large clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. sage
1/4 tsp. leaf rosemary
1/4 tsp. leaf thyme
1/4 tsp. tarragon
3 T. minced Parsley

Mix all together.
Enjoy!

(very Good spread on rye bread,
wrapped in foil, and heated
in the oven!)

Garlic Parsley Mayo

Good on sandwiches.

mix together fresh minced Garlic
fresh chopped parsley
and favorite mayo

blend well.

Lemon Dill Mayo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Very good on sandwiches also.

mix together:
freshly grated lemon peel
fresh dill, chopped
your favorite Mayo

blend well

Beer and Cheese Spread
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 C. shredded, sharp WI Cheddar cheese
2 C. shredded WI Swiss cheese
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 small clove garlic, minced
1/2-2/3 C. beer

Combine cheese, Worcestersire sauce, mustard, and garlic.  Beat in enough beer to make spreading consistency. Serve on assorted crackers or rye bread.
Yields 2 cups.

Avocado Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~
1 very ripe avocado
2 (3 oz.) packages cream cheese
1/2 tsp. minced onion
1 T. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. salt
2 T. cream
Dash Worcestershire sauce
Cherry wine to flavor

Cream avocado and cream cheese with electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients and blend well.
Makes one and one-half cups.
Enjoy!

Warm Pecan Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tho, this recipe is already listed on the recipe share forums, I thought I should add here for convenience.

Dip:
1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
2 T. milk
1/4 pound (4 oz.) dried beef, finely chopped
1/2 C. sour cream
1/4 C. chopped green pepper
2 T. minced onions
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
Combine cream cheese and milk in a medium bowl, stirring well.  Add remaining ingredients; mix well.  Spoon mixture into a lightly greased small casserole.

Topping:
~~~~~~~~
2 T. butter
1/2 C. finely chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. salt
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add pecans and saute' lightly.  Add salt.  spoon topping over dip.  Bake at 350* for 20 minutes.
Serve warm, or cold.

Beau Monde Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 C. Hellman's mayonnaise
1 C. sour cream
1 T. chopped parsley
1 T. minced onion
1-1/2 tsp. Beau Monde seasoning
1-1/2 tsp. dill weed

Combine all ingredients in a bowl; beat until creamy. Chill. Serve with fresh vegetables.

Cottage Cheese Onion Dill Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 pound small curd cream style cottage cheese
2 or 3 green onions, chopped
Dill weed to taste.
Blend all ingredients until smooth.

yield: approximately 2 cups

Peachy Fruit Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1 can (15-1/4 oz.) sliced or halved peaches, drained
1/2 C. marshmallow creme
1 package (3 oz.) cream cheese, cubed
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
Assorted fresh fruit

In a blender or food processor, combine the first four ingredients; cover and blend until smooth. Serve with fruit.
Yield: 1-3/4 cups.

Cheddar Butter Spread
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 C. butter, softened
1 clove garlic, minced
(or 1/8 tsp. garlic powder)
1 tsp.lemon juice
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/8 tsp. pepper

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients.
Blend until smooth and fluffy.  Serve in a crock or roll into a 12-inch long log, 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Cover and refrigerate. Remove from frigerator 20-30 minutes before serving. Serve with breads, vegetables or meats.
Makes 1 cup.

Cinco de Mayo Bean Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Any celebration calls for this tasty bean dip.
It's easy and can be prepared in about 15 minutes.

1 (16-oz.) can refried beans
1 C. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 C. salsa
2/3 C. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (4.25-oz.) can chopped ripe olives, drained
1/4 C. sliced green onions
1-1/2 T. minced fresh cilantro
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients; stir well.  Spoon into a shallow 1-quart microwave-safe dish.  Cover tightly with heavy-duty plastic wrap; fold back a small corner of wrap to allow steam to escape.  Mircowave at High for 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese melts, stirring after 3 minutes.
Serve with tortilla chips.
Yield: 3 cups

Easy Hummus Dip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 (15-oz.) can garbanzo beans, undrained
1 to 2 cloves garlic
1 green onion, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 T. plain yogurt
2 T. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. light sesame oil or tahini
Garnish: green onion strips

drain beans, reserving 2 Tablespoon liquid.  Set liquid aside.  Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add beans.  Pulse 3 times, or until beans are finely chopped.  drop garlic through food chute with processor running, process 3 seconds or until garlic is minced.  Add reserve liquid, green onions, and next 3 ingredients; process until smooth, scraping sides of processor bowl once.  Spoon into serving bowl.  Garnish if desired.  Serve with pita bread chips.
Yield: about 1-1/2 cups.

Peanut-Honey Butter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1/4 C. butter, softened
1/4 C. creamy peanut butter
1/4 C. honey

Beat butter and peanut butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until creamy.  Slowly add honey while beating at high speed 5 minutes or until fluffy.  Serve with sliced apples or pears, or on toast, bagels, or graham crackers.  Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
Yield: 1/2 cup.

Old Home Fruit Dip:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1 C. Whipping Cream
1 C. plain yogurt
1 C. sour cream
1/3 C. sugar
1 T. Grand Marnier or 1 tsp. almond extract

Whip the cream until it forms soft peaks.  Fold in the other ingredients.  Keep refrigerated.
Serve with fruit.

Hot Chili Bean Dip:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1-1/2 C. dried pinto beans, soaked overnight and drained
1 bay leaf
3 T. sea salt
1 T. vegetable oil
1 small onion, sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
2 to 4 canned hot green chilies (optional)
5 T. sour cream, plus extra to garnish
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
Hot pepper sauce, to taste
1 T. chopped cilantro

Place beans in a large pan.  Add fresh cold water to cover and bay leaf.  Bring to a boil; cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.  Add sea salt; continue simmering for 30 minutes or until beans are tender.  drain beans; reserving 1/2 cup liquid.  Cool slightly.  discard bay leaf.  Heat oil in nonstick frying pan.  Add onion and garlic and cook over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes or until just softened, stirring ocassionally.  In a food processor or blender, combine beans, onion mixture, chiles and reserve cooking liquid.  Process until mixture is a coarse puree'.  Transfer to bowl; stir in sour cream, cumin and hot pepper sauce to taste.  
Stir in cilantro, garnish with sour cream, and serve warm.

Serves 4.
