French Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 C. oil
1/2 C. vinegar
1-1/2 C. sugar (or more)
2 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 small onions, grated
1 tsp. celery salt
2 C. catsup
1 T. Worcestershire sauce

Put ingredients in blender; blend well. Store in refrigerator.

Thousand Island

simply~
mix chili sauce,
or ketchup
with favorite Mayonnaise.

Blend well, store in refrigerator.

Creamy Garlic Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1/4 C. sour cream
1/4 C. mayonnaise
1/4 C. salad oil
1 tsp. minced fresh garlic
2 tsp. dried chives, or 2 T. fresh chives
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1/2 C. buttermilk

Thoroughly mix sour cream and mayonnaise then whisk in oil.  Stir in remaining ingredients and refrigerate at least one hour before serving. The garlic flavor will intensify as this dressing ages.
Makes 1-1/4 cups.

Blue Cheese Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 C. mayonnaise
4 ounces crumbled blue cheese
3 T. milk
3 T. lemon juice
2 tsp. sugar
1 T. chopped onion
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. salt
Combine all ingredients.

Pepper-Onion Mayonnaise Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 T. finely chopped parsley
3 T. finely chopped green pepper
1 T. finely chopped red pepper
1 T. finely chopped onion
2 T. finely chopped pimento
1 C. mayonnaise
1/8 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Combine parsley, green pepper, red pepper, onion, and pimento.  Add mayonnaise, paprika, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Mix well. Add To your favorite green salad. Toss. Extra dressing will keep in refrigerator for several days.
Makes 1-1/2 cups.

Buttermilk Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1 C. sugar
1 T. dry mustard
1-1/2 T. salt
2/3 C. flour
4 eggs, beaten
1 pint buttermilk
1 C. vinegar
1/2 C. butter

Combine dry ingredients in top half of double boiler.  Add beaten eggs, buttermilk, and vinegar.
Cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until mixture thickens.  Add butter last and stir until blended.  Stor dressing in refrigerator.  It will keep for several months.

Note: When using dressing for fruit salad, thin with a small amount of fruit juice.

Honey Fruit Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2/3 C. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 C. honey
1/3 C. vinegar
1 T. lemon juice
1 tsp. grated onion
1 C. vegetable oil

In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, mustard, paprika, celery seed and salt.  Add honey, vinegar, lemon juice and onion.  Pour oil into mixture very slowly, beating constantly.  Serve with fresh fruit. Store in the refrigerator.
Yield: 2 cups.

Sweet Pepper French Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2 C. sugar
2-1/2 tsp. salt
2-1/2 tsp. ground mustard
2-2/3 C. vegetable oil
2-2/3 C. cider vinegar
2 medium green peppers, finely chopped
2 jars (4 oz. each) sliced pimietos, drained and finely chopped
2-1/2 tsp. grated onion

In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, mustard, oil and vinegar.  Stir in green peppers, pimietos and onion. Stir frequently while serving.
Yield: about 2 quarts

Creamy Dijon Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Smooth and Tangy salad topper.~Wonderful flavor.

1/2 C. Dijon mustard
1/2 C. mayonnnaise
1/2 C. orange juice
1/2 C. honey
2 T. cider vinegar
1/4 tsp. celery salt
Salad greens and vegetables of your choice.

In a blender or food processor, combine the first six ingredients; cover and process until smooth.  Serve over greens and vegetables.  Store in refrigerator.  Shake before serving.
Yield: 1-2/3 cups.

Creamy Dill Dressing

1/2 C. plain yogurt
1/2 C. cottage cheese
1/4 tp 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1 T. minced fresh dill
1 T. olive oil
1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Place all the ingredients into a blender or food processor.  Mix until smooth.
Makes about 1 cup.

Horseradish Vinaigrette
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
recipe from ~Silver Springs Gardens, Inc.
Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Silver Springs Gardens, Inc. is a family-owned farm which has been growing and bottling horseradish for over 60 years.

1 C. oil
1 T. Silver Spring Dijon-style mustard
1/2 C. vinegar
1/4 C. sugar
2 tsp. Silver Springs prepared horseradish
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp. salt

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Makes about 2 cups.
Good with mixed greens, raw vegetables, and pasta salads.
Note: Horseradish is especially good combined with balsamic vinegar in salad dressings and marinades.

Creamy Italian Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1 C. mayonnaise
1/2 C. small onion, quartered
1 T. sugar
2 T. red wine vinegar
3/4 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Process all ingredients in container of electric blender until smooth, stopping once to scrape down sides.  Cover and chill.
Serve over salad greens.
Yield: 1 cup.

1 T. plus 1 tsp. spicy brown mustard
1 T. white vinegar
1 T. honey
1 T. prepared horseradish
Dash of paprika
Dash of hot sauce

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; beat with a wire whisk until blended.  
Serve over salad greens.
Yield: 3/4 cup.

Ranch Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1/4 C. mayonnaise
1 T. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. vinegar
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. finely chopped fresh dill
1/4 tsp. finely chopped fresh parsley
1/8 tsp. onion powder
Dash salt
Dash paprika

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and let chill for a hour or two.

Enjoy!

Olive Garden Italian Salad Dressing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1/2 C. white vinegar
1/3 C. water
1/3 C. vegetable oil
1/4 C. corn syrup
2-1/2 T. grated Romano cheese
2 T. dry pectin
2 T. beaten egg
1-1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. dried parsley flakes
Pinch of dried oregano
Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes

Combine all the ingredients with a mixer on medium speed or in a blender on low speed for 30 seconds.  Chill at least 1 hour.  Serve over mixed greens or use as a marinade.
